European martket access for the Pridnestrovian goods discussed during the meeting at President of the PMR

The head of state Yevgeny Shevchuk held a meeting with the Head of EU Delegation to RM Pirkka Tapiola; the sides exchanged their views on important aspects of cooperation, in particular in the trade and economic fields

Tiraspol, May 23. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. The Pridnestrovie's President Yevgeny Shevchuk received the head of the EU Delegation to RM Pirkka Tapiola. Pridnestrovie's Acting Foreign Minister Vitaly Ignatyev also took part in the meeting, the Presidential Press Office reports.

During the dialogue, the sides exchanged their views on the important aspects of cooperation, in particular on the trade and economic fields. They also talked about European martket access for the Pridnestrovian goods. The head of state emphasized an importance of a compromise solution in trade between Pridnestrovie and the EU after December 31, 2015.

«This is a major achievement in the furtherance of bilateral cooperation. The European market is important for the Pridnestrovie's economic agents, especially in the conditions of the regional economic crisis, — Yevgeny Shevchuk told. — We seek to expand trade to all neighbors. Any economy seeks to have more opportunities for trade with the whole world and with traditional markets in close proximity».

During the meeting, special attention was paid to the issues concerning the customs duties on the raw materials imported by the Pridnestrovie's economic agents. The head of the EU Delegation in RM informed the Pridnestrovie's President on the efforts made by the European side for solution of a number of problems in this field.

Yevgeny Shevchuk and Pirkka Tapiola specially focused on the issues concerning the negotiations between Pridnestrovie and the Republic of Moldova.
