Tiraspol, 19 May. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. The investment economic forum is first of all helpful in building new contacts between Pridnestrovian and foreign business circles. And they may bring investment to the republic, which is especially required due to unrecognised status and economic crisis. This is what the chairman of the government, Pavel Prokudin, said in an interview with journalists.

«We understand that any investors are pragmatic persons who know how to count money, and we have to create preferences to attract serious investors here. The government is working in this area. We are seeking opportunities (including legislative) which would enable us to make our country's image more attractive," he said.

According to Pavel Prokudin, today, when heavy industry is stalling because of difficulties with market outlets and devaluation of national currencies, agriculture shows considerable promise.

«We are rich in land and industrious people. We are doing a lot now to support the agricultural sector. The industrial enterprises keeping up to date can be counted on the fingers of one hand, and making serious investment in them seems problematic, and it is the agriculture that may become the driving force of the whole economy," underscored the prime minister.
