Tiraspol, 19 May. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. Tiraspol's Palace of Republic hosts the 4th Pridnestrovian Investment Economic Forum. Alevtina Slincheko was the first to take the floor on behalf of the government.
According to her, today Pridnestrovie is facing the task of minimising the implications of the global economic crisis and adapting the country's economy to a new business environment. The attraction of foreign investment, among other things, must help to accomplish this task, which makes such forums especially relevant.
"I believe that this forum will be a vivid example of our economy being open to cooperation, enhancing investment and business climate, strengthening ties with foreign partners," said Alevtina Slinchenko.
About 500 persons are participating in the forum, with 64 of them representing foreign states. Among guests are both foreign entrepreneurs and foreign officials, including from the Russian embassy, Russian ministry of industry and trade.
"Russia is not only a reliable and responsible partner, but also a friend to Pridnestrovie. We have never been indifferent to its difficulties and achievements, we have always been ready to lend our shoulder when solving social and economic problems in the interest of peace and stability in the region. We will further maintain this attitude," said the consul ambassador of the Russian embassy to Moldova, Vladimir Lapshin, at the opening ceremony.
The 3rd investment forum resulted in three cooperation agreements, 16 agreements of intent to launch investment projects in various sectors of economy at an amount of over $42 million and two project implementation agreements at an amount of $3 million.
It is too early to speak about the results of this year's investment forum. But it is already known that today Pridnestrovie's Chamber of Industry and Commerce is supposed to sign a cooperation agreement with the Moldo-Italian chamber of industry and commerce.
The president of the Moldo-Italian chamber of industry and commerce, Mauro Salvatori, used the forum's tribune to invite Pridnestrovian entrepreneurs and manufacturers to take part in a forum the chamber organises in Milan on 29 June. Russian will be one of the forum's official languages. According to Salvatori, this is specially designed for the convenience of Pridnestrovian guests.
