Tiraspol, 13 May. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. The press service of Pridnestrovie's MFA has released a statement in connection with Moldova's continuing practice of shrinking from meeting Pridnestrovian representatives.
The full text of the statement is as follows.
«As the press service of the PMR's MFA earlier reported, on 5 May there was a meeting of the political representatives of Pridnestrovie and the Republic of Moldova during which an agreement was reached to hold this week a meeting of expert working groups on education issues with the involvement of the political representatives. The negotiators also discussed prospects for holding a number of other meetings at the level of relevant expert working groups this and next week. The Pridnestrovian side has sent the corresponding invitations to Moldova's political representative Gheorghe Bălan.
The MFA's press service regrets to say that Pridnestrovie's proposals to hold the above meetings have been turned down by the Republic of Moldova. Moreover, the Moldovan side evades even those meetings whose dates were offered by Moldova itself. Systemic evasions by the Moldovan side of functional communication create additional obstacles in the negotiation process and do not contribute to the search for compromise solutions to existing and aggravating problems in the dialogue.
The Pridnestrovian side urges once again the Republic of Moldova to return to a mature, equitable and mutually respectful dialogue and start seeking solutions to the most pressing negotiation issues. Pridnestrovie also requests mediators and observers to influence the Moldovan side to boost the dialogue and ensure their commitment to results.
The press service of Pridnestrovie's MFA announces that a letter with the corresponding request has been sent today to Moldova's political representative Gheorghe Bălan and other representatives to the 'Permanent conference…' in the 5+2 format.»
