Tiraspol, 19 April. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. Today, Moldova and Pridnestrovie' expert working groups on legal and documentation support held a meeting in Bendery after a long interruption.
According to the MFA's press service, the sides discussed a wide range of pressing issues relating, first of all, to citizens' personal data transfer and treatment. In this context Pridnestrovian and Moldovan experts considered the possibility of elaborating a mechanism of cooperation between relevant services registering civil status acts.
The Moldovan side took particular interest in the authentication of medical death and birth certificates issued in Pridnestrovie. The Pridnestrovian side, in turn, focussed on receiving relevant, regularly updated information on changes made by Moldovan agencies to civil status acts.
Participants also dwelt on principal aspects related to personal data security. They agreed it was necessary to facilitate procedural issues, which has practical significance for the citizens daily performing various legal operations.
Besides, the Pridnestrovian delegation was given a draft agreement whose provisions develop and specify Pridnestrovie's initiative to update the protocol of 16 May 2001 «On mutual recognition by Pridnestrovie and Moldova of documents issued by competent authorities of the sides». It is recalled that a verbal agreement to revitalise the above protocol was reached at the meeting of political representatives on 9 October 2015.
Special attention was given to a search for instruments of solving problems relating to the double payment of alimony based on court decisions made in Pridnestrovie and Moldova.
Following the discussion, the sides expressed readiness to continue working on pressing issues on the agenda and exchange before long concrete proposals aimed at settling existing problems with an emphasis on the elaboration of an efficient mechanism of exchanging requests providing for personal data treatment.
