Tiraspol, 12 April. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. Yesterday Tiraspol's Glory Memorial hosted a youth action Memory Candle. It was first organised two years ago on the 70th anniversary of the capital's liberation from the Nazi invaders and has already become traditional.

On the eve of 12 April hundreds of people came to the city's centre to pay tribute to the memory of those who laid down their lives for the sake of future generations.

According to representatives of Tiraspol's state administration, this year's action is remarkable for being organised by Tiraspol schoolchildren, and there were a lot of young people at the Glory Memorial on that day.

Older people also came to tell youth about the history of their native city. According to state administration officials, they hope the action will strike root for years to come.

«Today we have invited representatives of all public organisations in Tiraspol to take part in the action. Besides, young people have disseminated information about the action in social media so that everyone who wants could come. There are representatives of both labour collectives and youth and ordinary residents," noted a deputy head of the state administration, Natalya Nikiforova.

The Memory Candle is one of the first events in the range of festivities dedicated to the 72nd anniversary of Tiraspol's liberation from the Nazi invaders.
