Tiraspol, 12 April. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. In the course of a working visit to Moscow the acting foreign minister of the PMR, Vitaly Ignatyev, has met today a deputy foreign minister of the Russian Federation, State Secretary Grigory Karasin. The meeting was also attended by Russian ambassador at large Sergey Gubarev and deputy director of the MFA's second CIS department Vitaly Tryapitsin, the press service of Pridnestrovie's MFA reports.

During the meeting the interlocutors discussed the regional situation around Pridnestrovie as well as the country's domestic situation. They chiefly focussed on the analysis of the current state of the negotiation process and prospects for further dialogue in the 5+2 international format, including with regard for the results of mediators and observers' visit to Kishinev and Tiraspol on 5−6 April 2016.

In this context the interlocutors gave a positive evaluation of Russia's practical non-paper proposals released by the OSCE Mission to Moldova on 16 March 2016 and aimed to normalise dialogue between the sides and create conditions for productive work in the 5+2 format.

Vitaly Ignatyev noted that there is the whole package of draft agreements on the negotiating table elaborated by the Pridnestrovian side. He particularly emphasised proposals in the spheres of motor transportation, railway communication, legal and documentation services, education, humanitarian assistance and ecology.

The deputy foreign minister, Grigory Karasin, put emphasis on the inefficiency of any unilateral actions restricting and putting pressure on negotiation participants. He noted in this respect that Moldova and Ukraine's intention to establish joint control on the Pridnestrovian border does not contribute to normal relations between the sides and creates obvious difficulties in the negotiation process.

Special attention was given to issues on the Russian-Pridnestrovian agenda, including the implementation of socio-humanitarian projects in Pridnestrovie.

In the context of the implementation of the Protocol signed on 25 October 2013 by Russia's vice premier and presidential envoy on Pridnestrovie, Dmitry Rogozin, and Pridnestrovian President Yevgeny Shevchuk, the interlocutors discussed prospects for the practical development of existing agreements and conclusion of new agreements by relevant ministries of Russia and Pridnestrovie.

The Pridnestrovian foreign minister expressed gratitude to the Russian side for the already traditional assistance in raising proficiency level of Pridnestrovian diplomats. In particular, now a group of the MFA's employees are taking special courses at Russia's MGIMO, and more Pridnestrovian diplomats are to take internships at the Russian foreign ministry soon.

At the end of the meeting the sides noted the high dynamics of bilateral communication and agreed to continue cooperation in the spirit of openness and mutual understanding.
