Tiraspol, 22 March. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. Pridnestrovian school-leavers will enjoy the opportunity to continue their education free of charge at Russia's respected university, said the Ministry of Agriculture and Natural Resources following a meeting with representatives of Bryansk State Agrarian University (BSAU).

As was noted by the university's pro-rector, Nikolay Bardadyn, Bryansk's university is one of the biggest centres of staff training for the agrarian-industrial complex. About 8,500 students, 40% of whom are foreign citizens, study at the university. Now Pridnestrovian citizens are invited to join them.

«We offer a wide range of specialities: 11 higher education specialities and about 20 subcollegiate specialities. For the past few years we have been closely cooperating with Gagauzia, and now we have decided to expand our geography. We are ready to offer 20−40 or even more state-funded places for Pridnestrovian school-leavers," noted Nikolay Bardadyn.

He explained that the university would not allocate matriculation quotas, but hold a closed admission contest. At today's meeting in Tiraspol's secondary school No. 9 school-leavers and agrarian college students interested in the proposal would be invited to pass a test.

«We have brought test tasks, they will pass them, we'll take them to Bryansk, check them and in two weeks the results will be sent to the Ministry of Education of the PMR, which will issue special certificates to school-leavers. These certificates will enable them to participate in a matriculation contest," said the pro-rector.

Today, school-leavers from Tiraspol and Bendery may enjoy this opportunity, but by the next arrival of the Russian guests, in June or July, more Pridnestrovian children from other cities and districts will be able to pass a test.

As was noted in the Ministry of Education, such a proposal is very important and relevant for our country. «This is both important and interesting because children may obtain quality education and training at the expanse of the Russian budget, return home and work here in the agricultural sector. This will not affect the number of quotas annually allocated by Rossotrudnichestvo as it does not provide quotas to BSAU. This is one of the most respected universities training agricultural specialists; they have a very good material and technical basis and provide quality education," underscored the education minister, Tatyana Tsivinskaya.

The main thing is that the country will get the specialists that are not trained in Pridnestrovie. «We are especially interested in land management and cadastre, zootechnics (higher education), agrarian production for public catering and others. Today we will finalise a list of professions for which we do not train specialists," added the agricultural minister, Svetlana Timotina.

She recalled that all this has become possible thanks to an agreement signed by the Russian and Pridnestrovian agricultural ministries in July 2014 and providing for cooperation in a number of fields. Today, in the follow-up of this agreement, a similar one was signed between the Ministry of Education and BSAU to establish direct contacts.
