Tiraspol, 25 February. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. Today, the MFA of the PMR hosted a meeting between the Acting Foreign Minister Vitaly Ignatyev and the UN delegation including the representative of the UN Department Political Affairs Kristin Jenssen and the Advisor to the UN Resident Coordinator in the Republic of Belarus Victor Munteanu.
During the meeting the sides exchanged views on bilateral cooperation of Pridnestrovie and the UN agencies at the current stage, including in the framework of joint social and humanitarian projects implementation, the press service of the Pridnestrovie's Foreign Ministry reports.
Vitaly Ignatiev focused on the important aspects of the socio-economic situation in the country and noted that, despite the continuing regional economic instability, the level of social support of the Pridnestrovie's population is much higher than in neighbouring states.
At the same time, the diplomat regretted to note that today the Pridnestrovie's economy experiences serious difficulties due to unilateral restrictive measures taken by Moldova and Ukraine. According to him, in the current environment of complex external pressure on Pridnestrovie the efforts of the UN system organizations, intended to improve the living standards of the Pridnestrovian citizens, cannot be materialised entirely.
During the dialogue, Vitaly Ignatyev emphasized the openness of Pridnestrovie to cooperation with the UN system organizations which had been constructive for many years.
At the end of the meeting, the sides agreed to continue direct contacts on the matters of mutual interest.
