Tiraspol, 25 February. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. According to the chair of the government, Pavel Prokudin, the government is doing its best to prevent a fall in budget revenues, which is very difficult to do in the current circumstances.
The budget receipts are the government's headache. We do have subsidised districts where the situation is breath-tailing and tax revenues are hardly sufficient to pay pensions. Customs revenues have dropped. The global economy has been in decline. We are the only CIS country to prevent the devaluation of the rouble," said the prime minister on Radio 1.
He underscored, however, that the government «would be trying with its last bit of strength» to maintain the national currency's exchange rate.
«We will hold an investment forum in May and are working hard in this direction. We realise that until we are not recognised, there is no question of serious investments, whatever they may say. We also encourage our people to participate in various forums and round table talks where they could tell investors about tax and energy carriers preferences they can enjoy in Pridnestrovie," added Pavel Prokudin.
«We have only one strategic policy and national idea — the international recognition of the PMR. And we must actively promote this idea at all forums. Though it is very problematic under external political pressure. But I am also in favour of contacts with Moldova and Ukraine. Any dialogue will be helpful, and we should demonstrate our openness," he stated.
According to the chair of the government, the signature of memorandums with Russia's ministries and agencies has turned out, unfortunately, far less efficient than it was expected.
«So many memorandums have been signed, but none of them work. Because there is the same bureaucratic machine in Russia as everywhere else. We must break the wall, we must be more persistent," Pavel Prokudin believes.
