Moscow, 19 February. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. Pridnestrovie is under hybrid pressure. This includes an economic and transportation blockade, a political decision to establish joint Moldovan-Ukrainian customs checkpoints on the Pridnestrovian border, said Pridnestrovie's acting foreign minister during a news conference at MIA Rossiya Segodnya.

«We have an open export-led economy, and in such circumstances the first blow is dealt to the country's economic potential. This will prevent us from performing our regular operations. And very soon, if these joint checkpoints are set up, we will not be able to properly sell our products to Russia and the EU.

He said that in 2006, when Moldova and Ukraine had imposed a total blockade on Pridnestrovie, Russia managed to send its humanitarian assistance to the country's population. Today, owing to external reasons, such assistance is impossible to deliver, stated Ignatyev. In this connection, according to the diplomat, it is necessary to boost political and diplomatic measures of work.

«We are really in a very difficult situation and, therefore, expect that with the assistance of the Russian Federation and with the support of Russian experts and human rights organisations, we will be able to return our Moldovan and Ukrainian partners to a civilised paradigm of a dialogue and prevent the worst scenario — the humanitarian disaster," said the acting minister.

The first deputy chair of the government, Alevtina Slinchenko, in turn, has called on Kishinev partners for constructive cooperation aimed at developing foreign economic activities of both Moldovan and Pridnestrovian entities.

«Our economic agents must conduct free foreign economic activity to increase up their production so that the budget can receive tax payments and the population can receive salary and pensions," concluded Slinchenko.
