Prime minister meets Russia's MFA ambassador at large Sergey Gubarev

During the meeting they talked about the current cooperation between the countries and prospects for its development

Tiraspol, 16 February. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. The chairman of the Pridnestrovian government, Pavel Prokudin, met Russia's MFA ambassador at large, Sergey Gubarev. In the course of today's meeting the sides discussed the key moments of the Russian-Pridnestrovian cooperation, reports the government's press office. The Russian delegation included deputy director of the second CIS department of Russia's MFA Vitaliy Tryapitsin, adviser to the Russian foreign minister on peacekeeping missions Murat Kulakhmetov and Russia's JCC co-chair Yevgeny Vereshchaga. Pridnestrovie was represented by deputy foreign minister Dmitry Palamarchuk and Pridnestrovie's JCC co-chair Oleg Belyakov.

Greeting the MFA's delegation, Pavel Prokudin emphasised that «Russia is not just our strategic partner, but also the peace guarantor, the guarantor of our country's stable development.» He also noted an increased number of bilateral meetings in this year. «We appreciate the efforts made by the Russian Federation in terms of cooperation with Pridnestrovie," he added.

Sergey Gubarev, in turn, added: «We are fully aware that the tasks set before us are ours. And we are ready to do our best to solve them.»

Apart from the current collaboration, prospects for its further development were also talked about. Special attention was given to the issues relating to the intensification of mutual trade. Following the meeting, Russia's MFA ambassador underscored: «We are all historical optimists, hence we are proceeding from the fact that there are ways for cooperation development. They are known, we haven't invented anything new and we won't, which is why we need to take advantage of the tools we are having at our disposal now.»

In addition, the Russian diplomats visited Russia's ambulatory consular office in Tiraspol. Sergey Gubarev noted that as a result of persistent and competent actions by Pridnestrovie's foreign ministry this office efficiently operates and expands the range of services provided to the population.

Individual attention was given to the Russia-led peacekeeping operation. Pridnestrovie's JCC co-chair, Oleg Belyakov, briefed the Russian colleagues on the current state of peacekeeping affairs, following which common support and understanding of the need for the maintenance of the existing peacekeeping structure was expressed.
