Parkany, 28 January. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/.  The House of Culture of Parkany village, Slobodzeya district, hosted a solemn meeting dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the Supreme Council of the PMR. The head of state commented on a number of statements made by some public leaders during the meeting. They particularly referred to a special gas account and sources of addressing pension and salary arrears.

"The 'gas money' has always been kept in Pridnestrovie's central bank and has been withdrawn only in compliance with the law. The source of addressing the budget and pension fund deficit was 'the gas money'. All the accounts regarding the inflow and outflow of the funds have been sent to local councillors and Supreme Council deputies, as well as to law enforcement agencies. These accounts have been declassified and are in official use now. In connection with allegations of theft, I am assigning the prosecutor and the Investigation Committee to take immediate investigative actions," underscored Yevgeny Shevchuk.

The president said that, apart from financing salaries and pensions, there had also been national defence costs. With regard to the decisions made by the Security Council in March 2015 when Ukraine was concentrating its troops near the Pridnesrtovian border, the president said that the information about the spending of these funds would be disclosed when the corresponding inspection made a decision.

Yevgeny Shevchuk also recommended that citizens should not give in to the allegations leaked to the mass media by some provocateurs, including foreign secret services and other persons who provide unreliable or inadequate information.

"I have determined to say that personally to defend the position of a number of officials who decently accomplished their tasks by maintaining the socio-economic stability in 2014-2015 when the country found itself in a new, unique situation," he said

The president noticed that a whole set of specific issues had been settled then related to "the balance of money supply, national currency, as well as the maintenance of national defence and security".

"The task was accomplished, the rouble exchange rate stabilised, pensions were paid off, and arrears were consistent with budgetary resources," concluded Yevgeny Shevchuk.
