Tiraspol, 13 January. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. Some statistics of the 2015 budget performance were voiced during a meeting of the Council of State, which was chaired by the president.
«Due to the shortfall of local and republican budget revenues and lack of funds to cover the deficit, almost only social protection items were financed," said the finance minister, Irina Molokanova.
She noted that there remain salary arrears at an amount of 303 million roubles owed to public sector employees. The 2016 draft budget provides for allocations to clear this indebtedness. At the same time there are accounts payable on such social protection items as medications and food, which amount to nearly 190 million roubles, reports the presidential press office.
Council of State members paid attention at individual indicators stipulated in the 2016 draft budget. This year's budget will retain its social orientation. The revenues of the republican budget are estimated at about 1.5 billion roubles, which is 153 million roubles (9.4%) less as compared to the 2015 planned performance. The expenditures are forecast at over 3.3 billion roubles.
Following the council meeting, the president assigned heads of state administrations to increase activities aimed at discussing and working out measures to minimise crisis implications. This refers, in particular, to the establishment of advisory councils which should include, alongside local officials, representatives from business and scientific communities.
Yevgeny Shevchuk called on council members to unite efforts and work out anti-crisis measures in the face of the existing and potential risks for Pridnestrovie's economy.
