Government to form anti-crisis staff

Its task is to propose extra steps to minimise crisis implications in the short run. Such an assignment was given by the president following a meeting of the Security Council

Tiraspol, 12 January. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. A Security Council meeting, held by the president, is over. It is recalled that the main items on the agenda concerned the country's economic situation under the influence of external negative factors and existing disproportions in the country's budget.

According to the presidential press office, the government was assigned to form an anti-crisis staff following the meeting. Its task is to propose extra steps to minimise crisis implications in the short run. Besides government and Supreme Council members, representatives from the economics department of Shevchenko Pridnestrovian State University and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry are supposed to take part in working out anti-crisis measures.

The Ministry of Economic Development was charged to organise the meetings of advisory councils with the involvement of small and medium-sized businesses. The same work must be done by the Ministry of Agriculture and Natural Resources, involving agricultural experts.

The discussion of anti-crisis measures will also be held at the cabinet meetings, attended by the management of the enterprises which are the country's major taxpayers. As was noted following the Security Council meeting, the main goal is to pursue solution options which would provide macroeconomic stability: national currency stability and permanent payment of salaries and pensions.
