The KamArt international project has been under way in Pridnestrovie for 10 years. The first exhibition took place in 2006. Since then the project has developed and expanded the geography of its participants. This year the symposium has united 37 artists from 9 countries. The majority of them are from Pridnestrovie. Among foreign participants are artists from Russia, Ukraine, Moldova, Gagauzia, Romania, Bulgaria, Poland and for the first time Korea.

The symposium took place from 15 September to 6 October. The artists visited the Bendery Fortress, Kitskansky Monastery, Kameka's resort Dniester and the vineyards of the KVINT factory. According to the organisers, the main task is artistic communication and exchange of experience.

«The symposium is, first of all, communication for us. We worked both al fresco and at artistic workshops. We also practised internet communication as very many people applied, but could not come. But the desire to participate was so great that they have sent their works," noted the project co-ordinator, Yuriy Salko.

He also said that this symposium differed from those before. «On the occasion of our 10th anniversary we decided that an artist was not limited to the place, theme, time and could create wherever he wanted. If he wanted to come to Pridnestrovie, we provided him with such an opportunity," underscored Yuriy Salko.

The exposition Pokrovskiy Vernissage is the summary of the symposium. It displays works made in various genres and techniques. Here you can see pictorial and graphic works, sculpture, tapestry and icons.

«The artists have fully depicted in their works the richness and diversity of the Pridnestrovian nature, its particularity," noted the head of the State Agency for Culture, Maria Kyrmyz, when reading out the prime minister's complimentary address.

Today KamArt is the brand well known in many countries. The artistic union carried out its projects in Russia, Abkhazia and Ukraine. The works of the symposium artists were on display in the Netherlands, USA, Germany and Poland.

«And this is all KamArt. It is great that the project has crossed Pridenstrovie's border and tells about the country far from its boundaries. Today this is a huge project that lasts all the year round," noted Yuriy Salko.

At the exhibition new stamps dedicated to the 10th anniversary of KamArt were cancelled. Pokrovskiy Vernissage will receive visitors in the Tiraspol Artistic Gallery until 15 November.
