Among the most prominent authors are artists Mikhail Dovgan, Valentina Anopova and world-renowned traveller Fyodor Konyukhov, who has specially contributed some of his works to the CamART project: he has not only cultural but also kindred ties with Pridnestrovie, the organisers say.

Artists and sculptors from neighbouring countries has come to today's exposition to congratulate project participants and organisers on the inauguration of the exhibition. The deputy head of the OSCE Mission to Moldova, Steve Young, has made his first visit to Tiraspol's OSCE office and expressed admiration for the paintings.

The paintings, many of which have already been on display in Germany, Netherlands, Belgium, USA, Taiwan, Italy, have no common topic.

«Today's exhibition is just a small part of the works that have been created for the symposium throughout 10 years," says Pridnestroive's people's artist, full member of Modern Arts Academy in Rome and CamART project co-ordinator Yuriy Salko. «There are more than 500 paintings altogether. This symposium is a dialogue of cultures, a dialogue of creative people. It expresses the spirit of creativity on canvases rather than the reproduction of what God has already created.»

Today the International Association of Arts and Culture Workers has awarded Yuriy Salko the medal For Undertakings in Education, Culture and Arts. The medal has been presented by the secretary of the association, Nikolay Dymchenko.

The CamART symposium ends on 6 October with the final exhibition taking place on the Mantle (Pokrov) of Our Lady Day (14 October) at the Tiraspol Joint Museum. The Pokrov exhibition will also host a presentation of two stamp blocks dedicated to the symposium.
