A special programme on providing soft loans to young families has been underway in Pridnestrovie since 2009. Over this period more than 200 married couples have found family hearth in their own houses, the government's press office reports.
The main principle of this government-sponsored programme is to improve the well-being of young people by solving housing problems: the government allows young families to build or purchase a house on beneficial terms.
Initially, the loans were granted for buying construction materials at 1% per annum for up to five years. In 2010, amendments were made and it became possible besides building to use loans for buying real estate.
In the period from 2012 to 2014, 92 home loans were granted in Pridnestrovie for a total amount of 7 million roubles. There is a positive trend in giving this kind of credit. Over the three years under examination, its growth made up 91%.
According to the figures supplied, most families who have taken advantage of this government assistance come from the Grigoriopol district. In 2012 there were five of them, in 2013 eight, and in 2014 seven. The sum total amounted to nearly a million roubles. In the Slobodzeya district the granting of credits to young families increased by 187% over three years.
There was also a considerable growth in the Kamenka district. If 2013 saw only two cases of the kind, last year the government programme allowed 15 young families to purchase housing on beneficial terms.
It should be noted that the regulations on granting of soft loans apply to the couples that have been married for no longer than five years, and it must be the first marriage for at least one of spouses. The family is also considered young if one of spouses is under 30. Over six months of 2015, 14 families have been given loans to the amount of 990,000 roubles.
«The government has been continually working to develop and find ways of granting assistance to both young specialists and young families. The housing problem is of paramount importance in this respect. This is why, thanks to this government-sponsored programme, the young people will get the opportunity to live, work and raise a new generation of Pridnestrovians," says the announcement of the government's press office.
