Today, the meeting between the Pridnestrovie's Deputy Prime Minister on International Cooperation, the Foreign Minister Nina Shtanski and the Conflict Prevention Centre director, the deputy head of the OSCE Secretariat in Vienna Adam Kobieracki was held in the Foreign Ministry. OSCE representatives in Moldova also participated in the meeting.
The sides discussed a new draft agreement on the Pridnestrovie-OSCE interaction. Renegotiation of an existing agreement was offered by Pridnestrovie in 2011. The Pridnestrovie's President voiced his principle standpoint concerning the subject consultations holding at the meeting with the management of the OSCE Mission in Moldova in March, 2013, and ordered the Pridnestrovie's Foreign Ministry to continue and to push on development of a new agreement concerning the work of the OSCE Mission in Pridnestrovie. The sides started this negotiation in 2014, the Foreign Ministry's Press Service reports.
Nina Shtanski highly appreciated the dynamics of contacts and the current state of negotiations with OSCE on a new agreement. According to her, during seven meetings devoted to this issue, the sides managed to narrow the gap in the majority of the future document aspects. «We reached the compromise and found the formulation, however, there remain a number of some statements and issues which we hope to discuss today," the diplomat told.
During the discussion, the sides almost reached an agreement in harmonization of the document's final text. They agreed to hold additional consultations on a number of debating points in the nearest future in order to make a final version of the agreement.
