Vladimir Trandasir: Introduction of MTPL insurance in Pridnestrovie guarantees realisation of citizens' rights in both PMR and Moldova

That was announced by Pridnestrovie's head of the expert groups on transport and road facilities in an interview to the media

He recalled that since 1 June 2015 Pridnestrovie's car owners could enter and go across the Republic of Moldova with insurance policies issued in Pridnestrovie. In turn, all car owners who purchased policies from the Moldovan insurance companies that entered into the framework agreement with Pridnestrovie could drive across the Pridnestrovian territory without policies issued in Pridnestrovie.

«Thus the realisation of citizens' rights will be guaranteed both in Pridnestrovie and in Moldova. This is the result of the protocol solution «On the mechanisms of cooperation between Moldova's and Pridnestrovie's insurance companies on MTPL (motor third-party liability) insurance agreements», signed on 10 April 2015 by Pridnestrovian President Yevgeniy Shevchuk and Moldovan Prime Minister Chiril Gaburici. The document stipulates the mechanism of mutual recognition of MTPL insurance policies issued by insurance companies in Moldova and Pridnestrovie," said Vladimir Trandasir.

He clarified that the matter concerns the insurance companies which have joined this framework mechanism.

«There are three such companies by now. We hope the number will increase soon," said Vladimir Trandasir.

CEO of CJSC «Universal Insurance Systems», Vladimir Girzhul, said, commenting on the introduction of the MTPL insurance in Pridnestrovie since 1 June, that now «Pridnestrovian citizens' property would get protection of their property.»

«In case of a road accident, citizens will have to report it to the insurance company. If an accident has occurred in Moldova, it should be reported to the insurance company in Moldova, which in turn will get in touch with its Pridnestrovie's counterpart. The same scheme works for Pridnestrovian citizens. They can address the insurance company in the republic, and its employees will get in contact with their Moldovan colleagues. Insurance policies may by purchased in all departments of Pochta Pridnestrovya (Pridnestrovie's postal service) and in a number of banks," concluded Vladimir Girzhul.
