The Foreign Ministry's Press Service reports that, at the Kishinev airport today, the Moldova's border police refused entry today to the ENG crew of Zvezda TV channel going to Pridnestrovie to make a report on the social and economic situation in the republic and to make an interview with the Pridnestrovie's President Evgeny Shevchuk. The TV crew was given the resolutions of the Moldova's Interior Ministry’s Border Police Department. The reason for the entry refuse was the absence of the documents specifying the purpose of their visit to Moldova.
«There is no doubt that the true reason of the entry refuse to the ENG crew was the journalists' visit purpose, that is the shooting of a report about Pridnestrovie and the influence of Moldova's and Ukraine's blockade measures on the situation in the republic and its economy. It is also important to note that the journalists had all necessary documents permitting the work in Pridnestrovie," the MFA's Press Service reports.
The Pridnestrovie's foreign policy department regards the today's incident as the next step of the information blockade against Pridnestrovie. It's important to recall that the TV crew of VGTRK headed by Alexander Balitsky was also refused entry to the country at the Kishinev airport in March before that incident (they have recently prepared a report about Pridnestrovie for the Russia 1 TV channel).
Once again, the Pridnestrovie's Foreign Affairs Ministry urges the Moldova's side to stop the «witch-hunt» and to remove the restrictions in all spheres of the bilateral relationship. We believe that prevention of work for the foreign mass media in Pridnestrovie doesn't help to establish the good relations between the sides. However and after all, such actions fail to restrict the distribution of objective information about the republic abroad.
