Pridnestrovie's President addressed his Message to the people of Pridnestrovie and state authorities today
The foreign policy situation became one of the first topics concerned by the Head of State who noted that the events in Moldova and Ukraine hadn't impacted every sphere of life in Pridnestrovie never before as it was these days, i.e. the prohibition of the Pridnestrovie-Ukraine border crossing, and also the introduction (under the declaration of the foreign trade order change) of the additional restrictions from Ukraine and RM in export and import of Pridnestrovie's production.
"It occurs against our will and in the violation of the fundamental economic activity rights providing anybody's needs regardless the political views and the place of residence," Evgeny Shevchuk emphasized.
He emphasized that Pridnestrovie always offers to the neighboring countries good relations and cooperation, but never the sanction policy. "Last year we sent to our partners in Moldova many appeals to support our dialogue based on the urgent solution of the economic problems in relations between Tiraspol and Kishinev. The most part of our initiatives were ignored," the Pridnestrovie's President noted. Besides, the Pridnestrovie's party submitted the initiative removing the mutual restrictions in trade into the negotiation process in February of this year.
Nevertheless at the same time, according to Evgeny Shevchuk, some positive changes happened. "It is the cancellation of the import excise which was unilaterally introduced by Moldova. The progress in the railway transportation problem solution should be also noted, i.e. the cancelling of charges in the import and export customs registration for the Pridnestrovie's economic agents, and also the cancelling of ecological dues," the Head of State explained.
He also emphasized that Pridnestrovie is open to the dialogue, but the proper climate is required for this. It can't be made under the sanctions and blockade. "We've already offered our RM partners to reject the criminal prosecution against the Pridnestrovie's officials and to close the politically motivated criminal cases. It's hard to suppose any advance in other crucial issues without it," Evgeny Shevchuk emphasized.
Speaking about the course of negotiation process, he noted that the Foreign Affairs Ministry was ordered to to take measures in all directions for the proper preparation of the "5+2" format's work as soon as the existing obstacles would be removed. "Such work should be effective, but its purpose mustn't lie in the meetings with the declaratory intensions which aren't ever implemented," the Pridnestrovie's President told.
