Reconstruction of the de Wollant Park will begin next year in Tiraspol

The contest for the best new architectural design of the capital central park is over. The winner is Galina Bondar

The contest results on the reconstruction and improvement project of the de Wollant Park were summed up in the capital State Administration today. Three architects competed for the right to bring their own project to life: Alexander Kulibaba, Dmitry Povely and Galina Bondar, the Tiraspol Media Center reports.

The committee pronounced Galina Bondar the winner of the contest. In the jury’s opinion, her project proved to be the most interesting.

"Pathways in the park will change their direction, i.e. they will be presented in a radial system. We plan to relocate the monuments to Catherine the Great and to de Wollant deeper into the park. Also, we plan to build the illuminated musical fountain with a diameter of 12 meters in the Blue Alley’s center and to make a view deck.  The Blue Alley will also change its shape," - Galina Bondar told. Then she emphasized that the park fence would be replaced also.

The reconstruction of the de Wollant Park will start at the beginning of the next year in Tiraspol. The citizens and city visitors will have an opportunity to see the new version of the recreation area in the capital center towards the 25th anniversary of the republic’s independence.
