The so-called combatants - Moldova's participants in the conflict on the Dniester - were engaged in the incident
They blocked the airport's entrance, acting in an extremely aggressive manner and threatening bodily harm to Pridnestrovie's president and his security service. Thanks to the airport's employees, Yevgeniy Shevchuk managed to leave for Moscow. However, under the combatants' pressure the Moldovan police officers had to examine the president's car and confiscate his security agents' documents. The inquiry lasted for more than three hours, upon which the car and documents were returned.
It has been revealed there were both former and acting police officers among the combatants. Some of them have already been identified.
Pridnestrovie will fully investigate the incident and take the corresponding measures.
At present Yevgeny Shevchuk is already in Moscow.
