Tiraspol, August, 29. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. A wide range of issues was discussed at a meeting with Russian Minister of Defense Sergei Shoigu. A number of them related to peacekeeping and maintenance of peace on the Dniester banks. This was announced by the PMR President Vadim Krasnoselski at a press conference.
According to him, one of the topics raised during the discussion was the revision of ammunition in warehouses in the village of Kolbasna, Rybnitsa district. The President drew attention to the fact that those ammunition had been exported from the countries of Eastern Europe during the Soviet era, and a significant part of them had long expired storage periods.
“Sergey Shoigu made a proposal to conduct an audit and destruction of old ammunition. Common sense tells us to do this. It is important to observe environmental and technological safety,” the President said.
At the same time, the head of state stated that no matter who speculated on this topic, the final decision was to be taken by Tiraspol and Moscow.
“Matters related to the reduction and disposal of ammunition are an internal matter of the PMR and the Russian Federation. And only we can make a decision,” Vadim Krasnoselski concluded.
