Tiraspol, 8 June. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. The Pridnestrovian delegation took part today in a round table discussion, «Ukraine's influence on the situation around Pridnestrovie”, organised by the State Duma's committee on CIS affairs, Eurasian integration and compatriots. According to the vice speaker of the Supreme Council, Galina Antyufeyeva, the main issue was the establishment of joint Moldo-Ukrainian border and customs control over the Pridnestrovian-Ukrainian border.
«We expressed our concern by citing arguments, examples, calculations, prepared by the Ministry of Economic Development. There were also reports by the chairman of the Supreme Council and government members. The entire delegation had the opportunity to speak; everyone was heard," Antyfeyeva told Novosti Pridnestrovya.
According to her, the representatives of Moldova also presented their arguments, noting that «we [Moldova and Pridnestrovie] must build a single state.»
«I think we were persuasive. We maintained that we were, first of all, people's deputies, that we knew the people's will and, of course, would defend the interests of our citizens. We didn't create this [state] because we wanted to waste state funds, but because we were forced to by the Moldovan authorities. After the Moldovan aggression, we must do everything to ensure the safety of our citizens living in the PMR," said the vice speaker.
Among other issues raised by the Pridnestrovian side were those related to the acquisition of Russian citizenship by Pridnestrovian citizens, the use of maternal capital in the PMR, pensioners' healthcare, medical insurance, Russian pension provision, the nostrification of education certificates.
«We have a great number of working meetings at which we'll raise all the issues we have prepared. I think this visit will be fruitful," concluded Galina Antyfeyeva.
