Tiraspol, 30 June. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. Russian citizens residing in Pridnestrovie will be able to take part in Russia's State Duma election, said the chairwoman of Pridnestrovie's Central Election Commission, Yelena Gorodetskaya, during today's meeting.
«Twenty constituencies will be formed in the country by the State Duma election. Necessary organisational procedures, including equipment and telephone services, have already been worked out. Today, during a meeting with heads of state administrations presided by the chairman of the government, we'll discuss these procedures in more detail," said Yelena Gorodetskaya.
During the 2011 State Duma election 24 polling stations were opened in the PMR, but, according to the CEC chairwoman, 20 stations are enough for all Russian citizens living in Pridnestrovie to be able to cast their vote. To enhance voter capacity, each polling station will be equipped with several booths, and divisional election committees will comprise the maximum number of members.
The State Duma election takes place on 18 September. The location of the polling stations where Russian citizens will be able to vote will be announced later.
Preparation for Pridnestrovie’s presidential election which takes place on 11 December 2016 was also discussed during the meeting. «All necessary procedures are being carried out in close cooperation with heads of state administrations, local councils. We have already conducted an inventory of all equipment, including polling booths and boxes. It is necessary to make and repair polling station signboards," Yelena Gorodetskaya told journalists.
According to her, on 5 July a tender will be held for the supply of blank forms for election commissions. The CEC has already received several offers from printeries.
