SCC reduces customs procedures time for perishable goods

Tiraspol, 29 February. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. SCC specialists have drafted a document that reduces time limits for customs preliminary procedures and clearance for perishable goods. The SCC's order will come into effect on 4 March 2016, the committee's press service reports.

According to the new procedure, preliminary operations for the specified category of goods (opening and closing procedures for inland customs transit) will take no longer than 30 minutes upon the notification of goods arrival at the customs checkpoint and the submission of necessary documents. The time of the principal customs clearance should not be longer than 2 hours upon the receiving of the customs declaration and the submission of necessary documents and information.

The new documents expands a list of perishable goods that are subject to simplified customs clearance. It additionally includes live animals, live trees, plants, saplings, cut flowers, fresh and refrigerated meat, meat by-products and fish, milk products, sausages and meat products.

As is specified by the SCC, the enhancement of customs procedures for perishable goods was brought into focus by businesspersons during away sessions of the Public Advisory Council under the SCC of the PMR. This issue has already been studied by SCC specialists, who has taken into consideration economic agents' requests, including a list of goods that are subject to simplified procedure.
