The President and representatives of the state administration told in the course of inspection tour to Kamenka district that almost 10 million rubles had been allocated for the repair of local educational institutions under the Capital investment fund program over several years, but the demand is still high. For example, Kamenka school No.2 needs serious investment. This is one of the oldest schools in the district – the infrastructure is appropriate. It can be used to study the history of not only the educational institution, but also the city. A zemstvo and parish school were also opened in turn, later reorganized into a single labor seven-year school with Ukrainian as the language of study at the end of the 19th century there as in the village of Katerinovka, which the President visited this morning. A class was opened for children of German nationality in 1933. Three years later, the school changed its status from seven-year to secondary, and it was named after Maxim Gorky. A two-story building was erected three years later for the school (now it is the current building A). There was the Romanian occupation then, after which School No. 2 became Russian-language at the request of the parents of the students. Building B was built in 1968 - a three-story building, in which a sports and assembly hall, a canteen, and a cloakroom were arranged. A boiler room, a garage, workshops, a warehouse and another educational building appeared. Reorganizations continued. They abandoned the elementary school, transferring grades 1-4 to School No. 4 of Kamenka in the early 90s, due to the large number of pupils. These two educational institutions were united under a common number in 2012. The President was told today that the municipal general education institution "Comprehensive Secondary School No. 2 of Kamenka" is now the only one in the district that provides advanced education. It is attended not only by young residents of Kamenka, but also students from the villages of the district. The school can accommodate 970 people. There are 654 students this academic year. In total, Kamenka School No. 2 has three dozen classes: 17 general education, two specialized, 11 gymnasium, the headmaster said.
Vadim Krasnoselsky asked about staffing. The team is fully formed - according to the staffing schedule (80 people).
As for the state of the infrastructure, a lot has been done in five years. The roofs of five buildings have been re-roofed, the canteen, cloakroom, gym, showers, locker rooms have been overhauled, and the sewage system in the kitchen block has been replaced. Three million rubles are allocated in the republican budget to continue repair work and 1.4 million to update the furniture next year. The amount is small against the background of what is needed. It is necessary to make a choice about what to take on first. For example, there are problems with heat supply - interruptions in the supply of heat to the second and third floors in one of the buildings. On behalf of the President, specialists from the capital will come to Kamenka to find the cause and, if possible, quickly correct the situation. The elementary school building is warm, but the windows, doors, and equipment in the toilets need to be changed. The lighting in the premises is outdated and insufficient – Vadim Krasnoselsky was convinced of this when he visited the classroom where the English lesson of the 3A class was taking place. It is necessary to lay a rubber covering on the sports ground in the school yard. The area is 900 square meters, the required amount is 600 thousand rubles. The school is large, an additional hall is needed for physical education classes. A small room was allocated and renovated for a gym. An old dream is to restore the school workshops. They were located in a separate building, but have not been used for two decades – the condition is unsuitable for holding lessons. Although the building is strong, the roof has been repaired. The kitchen requires urgent attention. The premises need to be renovated and new ventilation is a must. A young cook Irina, who prepares lunches for three hundred students every day, told the President that it is very hot in the kitchen. Vadim Krasnoselsky discussed with the head of the district the issue of developing a municipal program for the repair and re-equipment of kitchens of educational institutions. This is the path they took, for example, in the capital. The practice was recognized as successful.
