Tiraspol, 2 December. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. Yevgeny Shevchuk announced his position on the results of the local and parliamentary elections. He thanked the citizens of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic for their active participation in the elections on 29 November.
According to the president, the course for the development and strengthening of Pridnestrovie's independence has been confirmed. «The elections took place in a democratic environment, ensured by the state. All candidates were provided with equal opportunities for running an election campaign, including free access to state-owned media outlets," says the announcement of the presidential press office.
These elections have already become Pridnestrovie's history. All pre-election tension is over. According to the president, now it is time to focus on finding more efficient solutions for both citizens and the state, as well as elaborating concrete proposals.
Complaints about electoral procedures may occur during any election campaign, notes the president. «The validity of election results should be discussed within the legal framework and based on the democratic principle of transparency at each stage of the election campaign in order to dispel doubts to the benefit of citizens and the country," says the announcement.
