The information circulated in some private media outlets about the change of the country's government system and the Pridnestrovian leadership's aspirations for cooperation with the west rather than Russia is a downright lie. This is what the first deputy chairman of the State Duma committee on CIS affairs, Kazbek Taysayev, said at a meeting with Tiraspol residents.
«Don't listen to those who are telling stories. We read this in Russia and are very much surprised. There is information in the internet that Shevchuk wants to change Pridnestrovie’s vector towards Europe. Nonsense. You know well who wants to change this vector, and it is not Yevgeny Shevchuk. You may believe me. We completely support the foreign policy of your president. He is on good terms with Vladimir Putin. Only recently has he had a top level meeting with Sergey Naryshkin," underscored Taysayev.
Capital residents wondered who was that general who introduces himself as Vladimir Putin's election agent and often appears on the TSV channel. He criticises Pridnestrovie's foreign and domestic policies, thus spreading rumours about the establishment of a parliamentary republic in the PMR. Moscow’s City Duma deputy, Andrey Klychkov, explained the goal of this misinformation.
«As of today, there is only one authority who can officially represent the Russian president in Pridnestrovie. It is Dmitry Rogozin. The rest are real impostors. Therefore, if someone speaks on behalf of the Russian president, this is purely a provocation. And any unauthorised use of this status is a breach of law. On our part we will file a request to the FSB to find out who those people are and why they act in this way," said Andrey Klychkov.
Prospects for trading cooperation between our enterprises and Russia were also discussed at the meeting with the Russian politicians. «The State Duma is considering a number of bills aimed at facilitating the existing cooperation between Russia and Pridnestrovie and establish new ties," said Kazbek Taysayev.
