Meeting of the PMR President Vadim Krasnoselsky and the Special Representative of the OSCE Chairman-in-Office Thomas Lenk was held in the negotiation hall of the presidential executive office. The delegation included the Head of the OSCE Mission to the Republic of Moldova Kelly Keiderling. The PMR Foreign Minister Vitaly Ignatiev and the Advisor to the PMR President Pavel Prokudin were invited to the discussion from the Pridnestrovian side.
Vadim Krasnoselsky emphasized while welcoming the guests the importance of a timely and open discussion of pressing issues. He recalled that the "5+2" format has been idle since 2019. This important negotiating mechanism became deadlocked after the Moldovan side refused to sign the final document. As a result, the work of the format came to stagnation. Resumption of collegial work would be a breakthrough in the negotiations and in the conflict resolution process as a whole, Vadim Krasnoselsky is sure. He emphasized that he highly values the OSCE mediation activities and expects them to be more active and effective. The President assured that this is not a compliment, but a fair assessment. The PMR President said that it is extremely important not only to negotiate, but also to implement the agreements reached, introducing relevant norms into the legal field of each of the republics.
Thomas Lenk in turn thanked for the high assessment of the OSCE activities, emphasizing that he personally and the organization he represents are committed to dialogue and settlement. The diplomat emphasized that he is acting within a strictly defined mandate. Thomas Lenk considers that we must be optimistic, but we cannot switch on the 5+2 format in the snap of a finger. The diplomat assured at the same time that he and his colleagues will work with the available capabilities. Vadim Krasnoselsky once again emphasized that Pridnestrovie is a supporter of dialogue and is making every effort to resume it.
