Sergey Obolonik described how Moldova takes away gas from Pridnestrovie

According to the Economic Development Minister, Chisinau's decision to reduce gas volumes for the PMR isn’t based on any calculations

Tiraspol, November 8 / Novosti Pridnestrovya/. There’re no calculations behind the JSC Moldovagaz's decision to reduce the blue fuel volume for Pridnestrovie to 2.3 million cubic meters per day. This’s an inadequate decision that overrides common sense. Such opinion was expressed by the PMR Economic Development Minister Sergey Obolonik in the Special Discussion program on the First Pridnestrovian TV Channel.

It was reminded that, according to the agreement between JSC Moldovagaz and the Russian PJSC Gazprom, Pridnestrovie should be guaranteed 3.9 million cubic meters of gas per day of the 5.7 million cubic meters that's currently supplied to our region.

“They (Moldova) have taken from us about 25-30 million cubic meters of natural gas, which Moldova doesn't need and nowhere to use,” Sergey Obolonik explained.

The Minister drew attention to open source information that the Republic of Moldova has accumulated and has in storage more than 154 million cubic meters of natural gas. The head of the Economic Development Ministry doesn’t exclude, that there may be the gas that is taken from Pridnestrovie.

“The situation is intentionally negative. The resource deprivation is undoubted, aggressive actions concerning Pridnestrovie,” Sergey Obolonik emphasized.

As is known, since November 1, JSC Moldovagaz, violating the agreement terms with PJSC Gazprom, unilaterally reduced gas supplies to the PMR from 3.9 to 2.3 million cubic meters. At the same time, information appeared that Moldovagaz could conceal a part of the Russian gas by subsequently reselling it to Ukraine.
