Bendery, October 6. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. Russia and Pridnestrovie do not hold any exercises in the Security Zone and the territories adjacent to it. At the same time, as Oleg Belyakov, Co-Chairman of the Joint Control Commission from Pridnestrovie, said, commenting on the results of the meeting of the governing body of the peacekeeping operation that took place today, Moldova does hold such exercises.
“This looks unconstructive from the point of view of relations in the Security Zone,” the head of the Pridnestrovian delegation emphasized. We are trying to keep the peace, and we do our best for this. We provide certain transparency, we calm the population, we work with local authorities, with law enforcement agencies, we seize weapons in the Security Zone, and say that we need to maintain stability. The war is not far from us. Let's keep calm at least on a certain perimeter so that people living in the Security Zone and near it do not worry. Yet there is no such calmness. And it is a shame that the Moldovan side doesn’t understand this.”
Recall that at the end of September, at the training area near the Bulboaca village in the Novoanensky District of Moldova, exercises were held with the participation of the Moldovan military, the military personnel of the United States and Romania. The training area is located on the territory adjacent to the Security Zone, and maneuvers with artillery firing caused serious concern among residents of Pridnestrovian settlements that are located next to the area.
In addition, a video recently appeared on the Internet, in which military equipment crosses the border of Romania and Moldova. According to the media, this is due to the next exercises, in which the military personnel of Moldova, Romania, and Great Britain will take part.
