Vitaly Ignatiev: Pridnestrovie is a peaceful state; we don’t pose any threat to anyone

The PMR Foreign Minister commented on the Supreme Council statement on the escalating situation around Pridnestrovie

Tiraspol, July 4/ Novosti Pridnestrovya/. At the end of June, the Supreme Council adopted a statement on the aggravating situation around Pridnestrovie, addressed to the world community. The document was commented on by the PMR Foreign Affairs Minister Vitaly Ignatiev in an interview with the First Pridnestrovian TV Channel.

“We expect that the Pridnestrovian people’s opinion, the Pridnestrovian leadership, and the Supreme Council as a legislative body will be taken into account and will be heard. This’s the most important,” the Foreign Ministry head noted.

The minister stressed that it’s important that there should not even be any attempts to think that some forces are operating in Pridnestrovie that want to destabilize the situation. “This’s nonsense, which makes no sense to comment,” Vitaly Ignatiev reported.

“I think it’s very important to visually realize that the Pridnestrovian people, the leadership, the parliament are all united in their position. It’s clear: we are a peaceful state. We don’t pose any threat to anyone. We’re against the militarization of Moldova. We urge everyone to take adequate action (the Moldovan as well as Ukrainian leadership). I believe that such a position is important and forthcoming right now,” the head of the PMR Foreign Ministry stressed.
