IT company Dex held a hackathon on the use of artificial intelligence

9 teams developed original ideas for practical applications of AI

Tiraspol, July 6. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. To develop an interesting project for the interaction of artificial intelligence and human - for this purpose, beginners and experienced IT specialists gathered for a hackathon (from the English hackathon ← hacker + marathon) at the Russia Hotel. The Pridnestrovian company Dex, known for its rich experience in the digital industry, holds idea competitions almost every year. Such joint brainstorming sessions improve teamwork skills, train intelligence, creativity and concentration, and create a bank of ideas and human resources. Today, hackathon participants, including schoolchildren, students, novice programmers and experienced specialists, had to come up with practical applications for artificial intelligence in various fields.

“Now everyone is talking about AI, but, to be honest, I still haven’t seen a cool appliance of artificial intelligence. Find a cool idea, and together we will make a successful software product,” Ivan Gel, head of the Dex company, addressed the hackathon participants with words of encouragement.

The participants were divided into 9 teams and within 6 hours they had to generate an idea, put it into primary text or code, and most importantly, successfully present the project. This should be a kind of demo version of the product - it is important to correctly show the idea, demonstrate its viability, explained Ivan Gel. Each team became a creative group, within which specific roles were defined: developers were responsible for the technical component, designers for presentation, captains organized the work and carried out the final promotion of the idea. Dex leaders shared their experience with the teams and provided expert support at the right time - valuable advice from an experienced IT specialist always helps to find the optimal solution.

As a result, many diverse and interesting projects turned out - at 10:00 Ivan Gel announced the start of the hackathon, and at 16:00 the work was completed and the teams presented their results.

Among the interesting ideas is an exotic bot predictor based on Tarot cards (it analyzes the user’s personal data and selects interpretations based on the huge amount of information from the fortune-telling card system). By the way, the AI fortune teller predicted success in this hackathon for the developers themselves - as a result, the team received the audience award.

Promising ideas include a personal AI social media manager on Instagram, which allows, based on an analysis of accounts and trends, to offer recommendations for promoting a personal page, as well as a service for collecting data on sales of real estate, cars and services in Pridnestrovie.

Three projects were the best. Beginning 17-year-old IT specialists created an assistant for predicting prices in financial markets based on analysis of data from exchanges and news. Two schoolchildren came up with a personal IT trainer for learning programming, who answers questions, selects tasks and monitors their completion. Experienced developers from Dex have created an assistant to make it easier to work with large amounts of data: text, video, audio. It allows you to save a lot of time for those who work with documentation, code, and presentations.

As Alexander Dimitroglo, Minister of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media, noted, almost all projects can be finalized and launched on the market - they are very promising and can attract the attention of users.

“Such events are important primarily for you as specialists, as they help improve your professional competencies and the quality of work in a team. I hope such events will continue,” Alexander Dimitroglo said.
