Tiraspol, June 2. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. On Saturday, Pridnestrovie celebrated the holiday of June 1 - International Children's Day. President of the PMR Vadim Krasnoselsky, congratulating the young residents of the republic, wished joy to every child, and called on adults to share their festive mood with the children.
“Childhood is not only and not so much about age, but about the state of mind. The world of childhood is a whole Universe, and memories of it live in everyone’s heart,” the President emphasized.
He donated 10 thousand tickets to orphanages, boarding schools and correctional schools for attractions in the “Chudo-grad” of the Catherine Park in Tiraspol and the Carousel Court in the Alexander Nevsky Park in the Bendery Fortress. More than 2 thousand children will be able to use the tickets on any convenient day throughout the year. The first group of children has already visited Catherine Park.
In all cities and regions, great holidays were held for children - with fairy-tale characters, quests, competitions, riddles, football battles, laughter, gifts, sweets and ice cream.
At the beginning of this week, the heads of state administrations told the President about plans for the near future. The festival season is gaining momentum in Pridnestrovie. Mass events attract not only residents of the republic, but also tourists who come especially to them.
An international football tournament will be held in Bendery at the beginning of June. Teams from Moldova, Turkey, Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan will participate. Vadim Krasnoselsky instructed to provide assistance.
The President thanked all personnel of the Joint Peacekeeping Force for their service. We remind you that May 29 is celebrated annually as International Peacekeeper Day.

This week the President also made an inspection of Tiraspol. He checked the progress of the construction and reconstruction of facilities within the framework of the Capital Investment Fund program: he inspected the sports complex at Tiraspol school No. 8, visited the city stadium, where large-scale reconstruction is ongoing, as well as three kindergartens in the capital.
Five buildings of the former medical institution in Rybnitsa are planned to be turned into residential complex with 120 apartments. This will become part of the Affordable Housing program. The proposal was discussed at a meeting with Vadim Krasnoselsky.
Now, for children to obtain Pridnestrovian citizenship, an application from only one parent will be sufficient. The President signed amendments to the law.
The head of state also introduced a state program under which street mercury lamps will be replaced with LED lamps within 5 years.
Last week, the government approved tariffs for utility services in 2025. For the population they will remain unchanged. The tariff for water for irrigation will not increase either.
The Government will also strengthen control over rising prices for basic food products: appropriate monitoring will be carried out weekly.
From September 1, they plan to launch automated payment in Pridnestrovian trolleybuses. The new system will also help to determine the congestion of transport.
The Ministry of Social Protection has developed a state program to support people with disabilities for 2025-2027 period. It will be a continuation of the previous “Equal Opportunities” program.
By decision of the Government, the state will now finance not only the necessary treatment of children abroad, but also food and accommodation in a medical institution for the person accompanying them.
The Government also proposes that a parent who travels with a child under 18 years for sanatorium-resort treatment receives sick leave benefits.
