Meeting of the PMR President Vadim Krasnoselsky and the US Ambassador to the Republic of Moldova Kent Logsdon took place at the presidential executive office. The American diplomat has been holding this position for two and a half years. The term of service at the embassy is expiring and the current visit to Pridnestrovie in an active status is the final one for Kent Logsdon. Vadim Krasnoselsky thanked the ambassador for the cooperation and efforts made to maintain a productive Pridnestrovian-Moldovan dialogue. The PMR President considers taken by the embassy and in particular Kent Logsdon in the field of bilateral interaction between Pridnestrovie and the United States measures significant. The foreign diplomat in turn highly appreciated the openness of the first person of the state and his desire for effective communication aimed at preserving peace, ensuring the safety and well-being of citizens. The interlocutors consider the most important achievement of the negotiation process to be the prevention of escalation despite its instability. “The most important achievement, if we talk about relations between Pridnestrovie and Moldova, is the preservation of peace. We have a lot of disagreements in both economics and politics. They have been and probably will always be. We need to deal with it. It is simply impossible to do this without peace. We can talk about the absence of a negotiation process. War is the worst-case scenario. Why do I always insist on continuing the negotiation process? Because the lack of negotiations leads to escalation, to war. Therefore, I will always return to the topic of negotiations no matter how difficult it is. I see only progress in this. All issues must be resolved at the negotiating table”, emphasized Vadim Krasnoselsky.
The meeting participants not only summed up the results of cooperation, but also discussed current issues. They talked mostly about economics.
Interaction with the change of the ranking member of the American embassy does not stop. Vadim Krasnoselsky expressed hope that Kent Logsdon’s successor will continue activities aimed at preserving peace on the banks of the Dniester.
