The PMR President spent the first half of the day traveling around the capital and inspecting the progress of construction and repair work ongoing as part of the capital investment fund program. The program includes mainly transferable facilities this year. Some are planned to be put into operation in 2024, others will retain their current status, since a large amount of work is expected to be carried out.
This is not the first year that the state university has been a participant in the state capital investment program. The building of the Faculty of Economics will be included this year. It is planned to update the roof and window units, and carry out facade work by the end of summer. Internal ones are planned for 2025. Inspecting the building, Vadim Krasnoselsky focused on the need to preserve its historical appearance.
The President entered the university’s Church of St. Tatiana. Vadim Krasnoselsky found Tiraspol artist Denis Korobkin at work. Teacher at the children's art school named after Rachmaninov and practicing painter is now busy painting church walls. A picturesque embodiment of the Last Judgment scene is born from under his brush. This is the central element, so the color scheme is quite bright. The painter plans to move on to softer pastel colors. He says the current stage is the first and extremely important. The work ahead is scrupulous and lengthy.
The next point on the presidential route is the student campus. There are few infrastructural changes, but they are significant at first glance. A major reconstruction of utility networks has been carried out. Landscaping is ahead. They expect to pave the area with paving slabs, renew the landscaping, prepare the parking sector, organize leisure areas with gazebos and benches between the student dormitory buildings, and equip sports blocks that will include badminton and volleyball courts, a workout area, and tennis tables by September 1.
The university archaeological museum will open its doors to visitors by the beginning of the next academic year. Premises for it are allocated in building “B”, which is completely renovated. The internal electricity and water supply networks, as well as the sewerage and ventilation systems were replaced there. The heating network will be renewed at the end of the current heating season. Renovations on all four floors of the building are underway. Vadim Krasnoselsky drew attention to the gym, noting that it should meet all modern requirements after reconstruction.
The President visited the halls reserved for paleontological and zoological museums. These locations are almost ready. They are filled with exhibits, there are plenty of them at the university. Many of them were in storage facilities for a long time. The exhibits are “breathing” before being exhibited. The participants of the inspection visit discussed the timing of putting the museum halls into operation. The date was set for the 12th of April. The opening will be timed to coincide with the Day of the Liberation of Tiraspol from the German-Romanian invaders. It was decided to invite students of the school named after Makarenko. Pupils of Suvorov Military College and cadets will be among the first visitors. Excursions will be organized for pupils of various social institutions of the republic during the first month after the opening of the museums. Their visit will be included in school excursion programs then. An important aspect: visiting university museums is free of charge.
