Deputy of the Tiraspol City Council: “The economic pressure of Moldova will affect every Pridnestrovian”

The rally participants do not agree with the position of the Republic of Moldova and are worried about the future of the republic

Tiraspol, January 24. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. Deputy of the capital city council Igor Krizhanovsky also took part in today’s rally against the economic pressure of Moldova. The people's representative says that a huge number of Pridnestrovians from different parts of the republic came out to express their position on the unlawful actions of the Moldovan authorities.

“The current economic pressure will affect every citizen of Pridnestrovie. Shutting down businesses and rising prices will affect the well-being of our citizens. We want to convey to the entire world community that we do not agree with these measures, we are worried about the future of the entire Pridnestrovie,” the deputy emphasized.

On January 1, Moldova unexpectedly began to levy customs duties on goods from Pridnestrovian companies. Economic agents of the PMR actually fell under double taxation. The duties go to the budget of Moldova, which is not connected with the social system of Pridnestrovie. According to preliminary data from the State Customs Committee of the PMR, damage to Pridnestrovie could amount to $16 million a year. One of the consequences of these duties will be an increase in prices.
