Tiraspol, August 3. / Novosti Pridnestrovya/. Construction is in full spate in the future Museum Quarter in Tiraspol. By the Day of the Republic, exterior work is to be completed: to make a facade, install a roof and put a fence in front of the main building, as well as update the appearance of the Tiraspol United Museum. After that, the specialists will begin work inside the museum, the First Pridnestrovian TV channel reports.
The Museum Quarter will become part of the Catherine Park, its construction is an initiative of the President of the PMR Vadim Krasnoselsky.
The main building of the museum is 50% ready: walls and columns have been raised, window frames have been installed, a roof will soon appear, and after that - partitions of the four halls of history. The interior decoration will be made in the style of Catherine's classicism.
“Currently, communications are being introduced from the side of October 25 Street: sewerage, water supply. Then you can start landscaping. When this is done, then we go inside the building itself,” said civil engineer Vasily Plotnikov.
It is planned to restore the bunker in the courtyard and organize an exhibition of military equipment and weapons. In the meantime, they are preparing a place for a fence.
“We dug out the foundation for the fence - the first part. Here we have a gate. The fence will be made of reinforced concrete blocks with a belt. Monoliths are reinforced concrete columns. And between the columns there will be sections of a forged fence,” the civil engineer noted.
The old building, which was not subject to reconstruction, was demolished. In its place will be a flower bed or benches.
On the other side of the building, a pit is being dug for arranging an additional entrance to the storage facility.
“A special entrance is being made with a wide opening. The window opening will be enlarged so that bulky cargo can be carried there. A staircase and a door will appear here,” explained Vasily Plotnikov.
The Museum Quarter is scheduled to open in 2025. According to the project there will be 5 buildings - each with its own period of history from the Scythians to the present. The surrounding area will also be improved.
