460 teams, more than 4.5 thousand participants – this is the Leather Ball republican tournament, revived in Pridnestrovie on the initiative of the PMR President Vadim Krasnoselsky. The President watched today the final fights and awarded the winners. The final games, organized at the Dynamo stadium in Bendery, were attended by 47 strongest school teams that successfully passed the qualifying rounds in all cities and regions of the republic. Representatives of 18 sports teams will bring the awards of the winners and prize-winners of the tournament today to their educational institutions. Winners of prizes were determined in three age categories: 5-6, 7-8, 9-11 classes – separately among boys’ and girls' teams.
Vadim Krasnoselsky, addressing the participants, winners and organizers of the tournament, congratulated everyone on the holiday of sports – this is how the PMR President called today's event. Speaking about football, the President noted that it is one of the most beloved, affordable, democratic mass sports. The President emphasized that there were no losers among the participants of the Leather Ball tournament, there were holders of various places in the tournament bracket, each of which was a winner just because they took part in the competition, gained new experience and friends. Vadim Krasnoselsky recalled that the next tournament will start in the fall, wished the young athletes further success, expressed gratitude to everyone who was involved in organizing a large-scale nationwide tournament.
The winners were awarded. The cups were distributed to the cities and villages of the republic.
