The PMR President invited Chief of Staff of the Presidential Administration Sergey Belous, the PMR Government Chairman Alexander Rosenberg, the PMR Minister of Economic Development Sergei Obolonik, the PMR State Security Minister Valery Gebos and the PMR State Customs Committee Chairman Valentin Grabko to a working discussion. Progress in fulfilling the tasks set earlier by the President was discussed. The geopolitical situation along the perimeter of the republic has changed the logistics of foreign economic activity and the traffic pattern. The directions that were previously in demand are idle, the load on others has increased fivefold for objective reasons. Measures are needed to simplify customs clearance procedures, reduce the time spent by citizens and vehicles at checkpoints, and increase their throughput in this regard. The President asked about the implementation of the updated legal norms, the discipline of their implementation.
The Customs Committee Chairman spoke about the objects that were paid attention to last year, noting that the amount of expenses from the Capital Investment Fund for the improvement of checkpoints and related infrastructure in 2022 amounted to 1.7 million rubles. We are talking about inspection blocks installation, platform scales installation, provision of facilities with high-quality Internet, organization of parking lots, the roadway repair, the number of lanes and street lighting expansion and increase, and hygienic rooms for public use at checkpoints equipment.
It was planned to intensify work in all areas in 2023. The amount of financing for the upcoming work fixed at the moment exceeds five million rubles. The numbers are not final. The Government and heads of state administrations on behalf of the President are working to refine the list. The local leadership in this matter has a special responsibility: we are talking about the road infrastructure of specific settlements, Vadim Krasnoselsky emphasized.
The state administrations leadership will submit updated applications in the near future. They will be discussed with relevant departments. The Government will give an opinion and provide information on sources of funding.
