Tiraspol, October 25. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. Minister of Foreign Affairs of the PMR Vitaly Ignatiev today met with the delegation of the European Union, headed by the representative in the negotiation process in the 5 + 2 format Dorota Dlouhi-Suliga, the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reports.
The discussion, which took place in the Foreign Ministry, was attended by Deputy Foreign Ministers Alexander Stetsyuk and Ruslan Slobodenyuk, as well as the Head of the European Union Delegation to Moldova Janis Mazejks.
Opening the dialogue, Vitaly Ignatiev noted that there were contacts with the Moldovan side. However, due to the non-constructive approach of the Republic of Moldova, meetings of representatives on political issues and expert (working) groups do not bring useful results for the residents of Pridnestrovie.
The Head of the PMR Foreign Ministry, in particular, dwelled on the problem of importing medicine into the republic. According to him, the implementation of a partial solution to this problem, which was agreed upon by the experts of the parties, has been blocked blocked by the office of the political representative of the Republic of Moldova, Oleg Serebryan.
Vitaly Ignatiev also spoke about the problems with the import of essential goods and plant protection products. “Introduction in the Republic of Moldova of individual EU standards should in no way provoke a restriction in the import of necessary goods in Pridnestrovie,” he stressed.
In addition, the Foreign Minister touched upon the problems related to the banking restrictions of Pridnestrovie and the refusal of the Moldovan side to sign a protocol decision on the return of unaccompanied children agreed upon by experts.
As Vitaly Ignatiev noted, Moldova does not fulfill the agreements of the negotiation process, which were signed over the past 30 years. We are talking about the agreements of the Berlin Plus package agreed in 2016.
The participants of today's meeting came to a common opinion that it was necessary to look for pragmatic solutions in the interests of the population and to avoid conflict situations.
