Tiraspol swimmers won 6 medals in Bulgaria

Natalia Zaitseva together with Egor Kovalev performed at the Burgas Open-2022 tournament

Tiraspol, October 17/ Novosti Pridnestrovya/. Athletes from the Tiraspol swimming sports school won awards in the international Burgas Open-2022 tournament, which was held in Bulgaria.

Masters of Sports Natalia Zaitseva and Egor Kovalev won 6 medals for both of them. According to the competition rules, each athlete could swim 4 distances.

Natalia Zaitseva competed in the age group of 15-17 years. Her signature style is a backstroke. She finished first in the 50 and 200-meter swim and also became the second one in the 100 meters distance.

Egor Kovalev among adults took a gold medal in the 200-meter and a bronze medal in the 100-meter distance with freestyle. Kovalev won another bronze in the 100-meter distance with a butterfly style.

“Every athlete showed decent results, considering that for the first time they trained at 2050 meters altitude. Therefore, coaches didn’t set the task of specially preparing for such a tournament,” Alexander Goryachev, the President of the Moldavian Water Sports Federation noted.

The Burgas Open-2022 international tournament for the Bulgarian Swimming Federation prizes was held on October 14-16. It was attended by 600 athletes from 7 countries.
