The special correctional educational institution No. 44 located in Tiraspol is a “school-kindergarten” complex. It has been operating in this form since 1997. Only preschool children were brought up here for three decades prior to that. The institution is based in two buildings, one of which was built in 1965. This building until this year did not know major repairs and needed urgent and serious reconstruction. 4.5 million rubles were allocated under the capital investment program. The roof, facade, ventilation, heat supply, hot water supply and sewerage systems were updated. Improved and fenced the surrounding area. Gazebos were set up. Sports sector was equipped. The interior premises were renovated – classrooms, a catering unit, a laundry room, music and sports halls, work rooms for specialists: an ophthalmologist, defectologist, speech therapist, as well as an orthopedic room. The updated infrastructure of the Municipal Special Correctional Educational Institution was inspected today by the President. Vadim Krasnoselsky was told that the renovated building was assigned to the school department, in which 63 primary school students are currently studying. These are visually impaired children who need specialized learning conditions and continuous comprehensive treatment. The Head of the institution Alla Tokareva told the President that all 127 pupils and pupils are in the same building while the renovation is ongoing. Furniture will be installed in the renovated classrooms, and elementary school students will continue their studies in the renovated building in the near future. Vadim Krasnoselsky asked about the staffing of the institution. According to the director, the Municipal Special Correctional Educational Institution staff is well-established – there are 73 people at the moment, there is no problem of staff turnover, high-level specialists, the average age is 42 years.
The PMR President asked about catering in the institution. Alla Tokareva said that it is four times a day. Two-thirds of the pupils eat on preferential terms. The President discussed with the Head of Municipal Special Correctional Educational Institution further plans for the improvement and development of the institution. They talked about infrastructure and educational programs, traditional and modern approaches to the upbringing and education of children whose health requires a special approach to organizing the educational process.
