Vadim Krasnoselsky held a meeting with Claus Neukirch

Meeting of the PMR President Vadim Krasnoselsky and the Head of the OSCE Mission to Moldova Claus Neukirch was held at the presidential executive office. The PMR Foreign Minister Vitaly Ignatiev and Political Adviser of the OSCE Mission to Moldova Grigori Alhazov took part in the discussion.

The interlocutors after exchanging greetings mentioned the finally receding coronavirus pandemic, noting that they were glad to be able to resume direct contacts without unnecessary restrictions related to safety and security arrangements. The COVID situation in the world was discussed. Vadim Krasnoselsky said that the network of infectious diseases hospitals in Pridnestrovie has been closed. Patients with a confirmed diagnosis of COVID-19 are admitted by one hospital. The rest hospitals have returned to scheduled work, but are in full readiness to resume if necessary to receive patients with coronavirus. 17 Pridnestrovians are undergoing inpatient treatment now, said Vadim Krasnoselsky.

The main topic of today's meeting is the negotiation process. The PMR President noted that the “5+2” format is inactive, and the downward activity of the expert (working) groups does not cause optimism. The role of meetings of participants in the negotiation process in the "1 + 1" mode increases in this situation. The PMR President considers that the dialogue in this format should be increased using this tool to resolve issues on the negotiation agenda, the number of which is not only not decreasing, but increasing. The most important aspect in the existing realities is ensuring peace and security, Vadim Krasnoselsky emphasized.

Claus Neukirch in turn indicated the interest of the OSCE in the peaceful resolution of any issues. He noted that it is important for the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe to know the views of the parties on the state of affairs, their assessment of the situation, and their vision of ways out of difficult circumstances.

The meeting participants discussed topical issues in detail and outlined plans for further cooperation. They agreed on the need to address all social and humanitarian problems on the current agenda that contribute to improving people's lives.
