The President congratulated the PMR Supreme Court representatives

The solemn meeting dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the Supreme Court of the PMR and the Day of Court employees was held in the Great Hall of the Palace of the Republic. The PMR President Vadim Krasnoselsky took part in the event.

The PMR Supreme Court Chairman Adrian Penkovsky addressed representatives of the judiciary with words of congratulations. He recalled the period of creation and the time of the formation of the judicial system of the Pridnestrovian state, expressing gratitude to those who stood at the origins, forming an effective mechanism of Pridnestrovian legal proceedings. According to Adrian Penkovsky, the high-quality work of the judiciary is the core of democratic state governed by the rule of law. The Chairman of the Supreme Court of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic emphasized that the judge personifies the law – equally severe and fair for everyone. He focused on the measures that are being taken to effectively protect the legitimate rights, freedoms and interests of citizens, increase the authority of the judiciary and the level of trust in it. He singled out the toughening of the criteria for selecting candidates for the position of judges, the work aimed at improving their qualifications, as well as the development of legislative acts that simplify the judicial process for citizens.

Congratulating the judicial community as a whole on their professional holiday and the staff of the Supreme Court of the PMR on its anniversary, the Head of State Vadim Krasnoselsky emphasized the importance of the activities of judges and members of the judiciary, noting their professionalism and experience. The President dwelled on the history of creation and contribution of the Supreme Court of the PMR to the formation of the Pridnestrovian statehood and protection of the citizens of the PMR.

“Pay attention to the date of creation of the Supreme Court of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic. January 14, 1992 – is the time after the collapse of the Soviet Union. The Pridnestrovians had an urgent need to create our own judicial institution, the judicial branch of power as an attribute of statehood. The most important goal was to protect the citizens of our republic. Remember that troubled time of 1990-1992. There was militant nationalism in a neighboring state. Terrorist groups began to arrive in Pridnestrovie from Moldova and kill unarmed people,” Vadim Krasnoselsky reminded, emphasizing that there was no legal response from Moldova to extrajudicial killings and still.

The most distinguished employees and judges of the PMR Supreme Court, who made a significant contribution to the development of the judicial system and the improvement of justice, were awarded state awards and honorary titles. The Chairman of the Supreme Court of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic Adrian Penkovsky was awarded the highest qualification class by a presidential decree.
