The PMR Armed Forces Commander-in-Chief took part in the Military Collegium of the Ministry of Defense meeting

The military Collegium has summed up the results of service activities for 2021. The meeting was held at the General Staff of the PMR Armed Forces. The Commander-in-Chief took part in the work. Vadim Krasnoselsky heard reports on the state of affairs in the troops in various spheres. They talked about combat readiness and the level of combat training, material and technical support, the state of weapons and equipment. A detailed analytical report on army discipline, as well as a report on the results of work to increase the prestige of the armed forces was presented to the participants of the meeting. The speakers announced the qualitative and quantitative indicators, and outlined the main tasks to ensure the republic's defense in 2022.

The Minister of Defense summed up the overall results of the department's activities in 2021 in the report. Major General Oleg Obruchkov drew the attention of the members of the Military Collegium to the fact that the Armed Forces have undergone a number of transformations aimed at creating a new image of the army and increasing the prestige of military service since 2017. One of the main directions of development is the combat readiness of units.

According to the minister, the intensity of live fire exercises have increased markedly and the practice has become systemic. The activity of combat training did not decrease in 2021 even despite the coronavirus pandemic. Conducting tactical exercises on an ongoing basis with stages of live firing, driving tanks and armored personnel carriers increases the professional training of servicemen of all categories, the Speaker emphasized.

Additions were made to the programs of command and combat training of units in order to improve the military professional skills of military personnel in combat in urban conditions by order of the President in 2017. Training of parachute instructors is being conducted on an ongoing basis on the basis of a special purpose unit. It was noted at the meeting of the Collegium that camps with instructors made it possible to better and more centrally prepare the personnel of the unit. The Center for the Improvement of the Field Training of Officers, created in 2018, is effectively functioning. Training camps and competitions are constantly held with live shooting from small arms and driving combat vehicles on its basis. The program of intensive combined-arms training of young recruits, developed in 2020 is being successfully implemented. High-altitude assault training began to be carried out in the Armed Forces with special forces from 2021.

Considering the fact that by 2017 there were practically no specialists in power martial arts in the Armed Forces, it was decided to train qualified instructors in sambo wrestling. As a result, power martial arts as one of the types of combat have become an important component of the training of military personnel.

The Minister of Defense drew the attention of the board members to the fact that the reforms carried out in the army led to a noticeable decrease in the number of crimes and cases of unauthorized abandonment of the unit. The principles and approaches of ideological work were revised, the quantity and quality of military-patriotic events increased. The Armed Forces hold contests "Minute of Glory", "Voice of the Army", the Club of the Funny and Inventive People games, "Intellectual Battle", "Merry Starts". The army has become a full-fledged participant in the social and cultural life of the state, as well as a platform for the development of the youth social and patriotic movement, noted in the reports of the participants of the Military Collegium.

Summing up the results of the service activities of the Ministry of Defense, the Commander-in-Chief noted that a big step had been taken to develop the material and technical base of the armed forces, create a favorable atmosphere in the army, and improve the quality of training of servicemen. The President recognized the work of the defense department as satisfactory. Vadim Krasnoselsky set tasks for the coming year, stressing that the security of the country and each of its citizens depends on solution of these tasks.
