Dubossary, October 08 /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. The Yagorlyk national park is located in the Dubossary region and is one of the Pridnestrovian tourist route objects.
On its territory of almost one thousand hectares, there’re more than 750 plants species, about 200 birds species, over 500 insects species, 35 fish varieties, ten reptiles species, and more than 50 mammals species. More than half of the rare and endangered flora and fauna representatives are listed in the Red Book. They are protected in the national park
“The main peculiarity of the national park is that it has a great biological diversity. There are aquatic, near-water, swampy-aquatic, meadow, forest, steppe, and petrophysics bio currents. Therefore, the main landmark is the different species abundance. We have a very high species diversity index,” the Yagorlyk national park director Tatiana Sharapanovskaya described.
According to her, the national park looks wonderful, especially in the autumn season. And it is ready to meet tourists in the autumn season. The previous year, Yagorlyk was visited by travelers not only from Pridnestrovie but also from Czech Republic, Portugal, and the Netherlands.
“Yagorlyk is very beautiful in autumn, but the frost hasn’t come yet, that’s why green colors are concentrated in our country. “When frosts hit, something will change its colors on yellow and red. The Scumpia will change color on red and maroon. Maples will become yellow, but the downy oak that is being restored by us will stand in the foliage throughout the winter. Then it’ll change its color on light brown and then shed its foliage only in spring when new buds begin to grow,” Tatiana Sharapanovskaya noted.
The national park director also added that it would be possible to get acquainted with the Yagorlyk beauty not only while walking but also traveling by the waterway. Such plans are formed as part of the national park infrastructure development.
